The 3577 IBM System Storage TS3400 Tape Library is designed to offer high-performance drive technology and automation for open system environments. The TS3400 Tape Library is an addition to the IBM System Storage tape library family of offerings.

The TS3400 Tape Library combines IBM tape drive and automation reliability with competitive entry pricing. The new model supports high-performance drives, unattended backup and archive, open system attachment flexibility, and high capacity and performance.

The IBM TS3400 ( IBM 3577/L5U ) can utilize up to two TS1120 or TS1130 ( 3592/E05 or 3592/EU6 ) tape drives and 18 tapes. The TS3400 is capable of storing up to 37.8TB of data at 3:1 compression with data transfer rates of 104 MBps.
