IBM TS3200 Tape Library leverages the latest generation of LTO technology to help cost-effectively handle growing storage requirements.

TS3200 Tape Library – and its storage management applications – are designed to address capacity, performance, data protection, reliability, affordability, and application requirements. It is a functionally rich, high-capacity, entry-level tape-tape automation for IBM Power Systems and other open systems.

The IBM 3573 System Storage TS3200 Tape Library Model L4U (machine type 3573) incorporates the new LTO Ultrium 8 half-high 8 Gb SAS, and half-high 8 Gb Fibre Channel tape drives, maintaining tape performance as the previous generation of IBM LTO Ultrium 7 tape drives with a native data transfer rate of up to 300 MB/sec.

The IBM TS3200 (IBM 3573/L4U) can support a variety of LTO tape drives, up to 4 Ultrium LTO 5, 6, 7, and 8 models – with SAS, SCSI, and FC attach options.

When configured with LTO5 tape units, the TS3200 can store up to 144TB and has a data transfer rate of 140MBps.
