TS3100 is designed as a functionally rich, entry-level tape-storage solution incorporating LTO tape technology. TS3100 is an excellent solution for large-capacity or high-performance tape backup with or without random access, as well as an excellent tape automation option for IBM Power Systems™ and other open systems.

The IBM TS3100 (IBM 3573/L2U or 3573/2UL) can support a variety of tape drives (LTO3, 4 and 5, 6, 7, and 8 with SAS, SCSI, and FC connectivity). When configured with two Ultrium LTO5 sleds the TS3100 provides up to 72TB of storage and data transfer of 140MBps.

TS3100 is well-suited for handling the backup, restore, and archive data-storage needs of small to midsized environments. With the use of one full-height LTO tape drive or two half-height LTO tape drives and with a 24-cartridge capacity, TS3100 leverages LTO technology to cost-effectively handle growing storage requirements.
