IBM POWER11 S1124 & L1124
Efficiently Scale Out Your Data-Intensive Applications
The IBM Power S1124 and L1124 systems are powerful scale-out servers designed to deliver exceptional throughput for your most demanding applications.
The Power S1124 supports IBM AIX, IBM i, and Linux, making it a flexible choice for application and database servers. The Power L1124 is tailored specifically for Linux environments, providing a highly cost-effective platform for open-source databases and Red Hat OpenShift.
Both models leverage the Power11 DCM processor and a flat CPU interconnect to deliver superior scalability, with up to 25% more core capacity than the previous generation.
KEY POINTS TO CONSIDER
The enterprise class compute platform with massive I/O and storage throughput
These 4U servers provide a dense compute platform with up to 60 cores per system and up to 8 TB of DDR5 memory, which offers up to 50% more bandwidth than the previous generation.
Enterprise-class RAS features, uncommon in scale-out systems, are standard, including Spare Cores for increased availability and Active Memory Mirroring. With ten PCIe slots (eight of which are Gen5 capable) and capacity for up to 16 internal NVMe drives, the S1124/L1124 provides massive I/O and storage throughput.
The entire system is protected with Quantum-safe encryption for secure boot and workload migration.
IBM Power11 S1124 & L1124 Key Features
Efficient Consolidation
Consolidate workloads from numerous older Power7 or Power8 servers onto a single, efficient 4U system, reducing your operational costs.
Modernised Technology
Modernise your infrastructure with access to PCIe Gen5, high-bandwidth DDR5 memory, and the latest advanced hardware security features.
Hybrid Cloud Flexibility
Run a mix of AIX, IBM i, and Linux applications that can be moved seamlessly to and from the PowerVS cloud.
Optimised for Containerisation
The L1124 model offers a cost-optimised platform for Red Hat OpenShift, creating a consistent hybrid container environment.
Embedded Quantum-Safe Security
Embed next-generation security into the hardware with Quantum-safe cryptography, designed to protect against threats from future quantum computers.
Secure System Operations
Protect foundational system operations, including the secure boot process and Live Partition Migration, with a future-proof security standard.
