How we monitor and identify when data is compromised.

Daily monitoring checks are conducted by the Covenco helpdesk. They will monitor all the data backup jobs sent to the offsite cloud repository and ensure that replication of the backups is taking place as planned.  If the team is alerted to any issues during this time, they will escalate to the customer’s IT team. Ultimately, the Covenco team will always be on hand to assist in resolution and remediation.

How do we react, and what is the quarantine process with Veeam Insider Protection & Veeam Cloud Connect?

Veeam’s ‘Insider Protect’ feature is included with the Veeam Cloud Connect service and it provides a soft ‘air gap’ for the offsite backup data.  If the data in the cloud repository is accidentally or maliciously deleted, it will fall into a recycle bin facility which is only visible to Covenco. This allows us to restore the deleted data to any location of the customer’s choice.  This is particularly useful in cases of malicious ransomware or cyber attacks, where data is infected and deleted.

How do we help customers rapidly restore to a guaranteed clean data set with no loss?

Covenco’s DRaaS is designed to cater to a wide range of Recovery Time and Point Objectives (RTPO).  However, not all Servers and Applications are critical enough to warrant availability in minutes which can also prove expensive and potentially overkill.  We actively help our Customers to determine the right level of availability through our consultative approach and 25 years plus of experience in providing reliable and robust disaster recovery solutions.

How Covenco’s fully air-gapped backup services provide the ultimate piece of mind

Covenco offers a Tape Out service which not only provides an offsite copy of backups but also provides an offline copy to ensure backups are fully air-gapped. Because air-gapped backups are offline and inaccessible to malicious attackers it means that the all-important 3-2-1-1 rule is met. The rule is:

• 1 copy is offsite
