Inside QiSpace: Quantropi’s Three-Tier Quantum-Secure Cryptography Platform
A platform for the post-quantum transition
The threat driving quantum-secure cryptography is now well understood. ‘Y2Q’, the point at which quantum computers can break the encryption protecting data today, is approaching, and adversaries are already harvesting encrypted data to decrypt once that capability arrives. Where this guide adds value is in setting out how QiSpace, Quantropi’s cryptography platform, is built, deployed and integrated, which is the practical question facing any organisation moving towards post-quantum readiness.
QiSpace is positioned by Quantropi as a single platform delivering a full suite of quantum-secure cryptographic products and quantum entropy services to enterprises, governments, product manufacturers and the IoT market. It is organised around the company’s ‘TrUE’ model, which maps three cryptographic principles to three product families.
The QiSpace product families
- MASQ provides crypto-agile asymmetric encryption for key exchange, digital signatures and zero-knowledge proof, with support for NIST PQC standards. Quantropi also offers its own novel PQC algorithms, which it states deliver significantly smaller signature sizes and better performance than current NIST candidates.
- QEEP provides quantum-secure symmetric encryption based on quantum permutation pads. It operates on any IP network or device, runs up to 18 times faster than software AES-256, and has a dynamic code footprint as small as 2.5KB, making it well suited to constrained environments.
- SEQUR provides quantum entropy services for the generation and quantum-secure distribution of random numbers and keys.
A three-tier architecture
The structural detail of the guide lies in the QiSpace three-tier model, which separates entropy generation, key management and endpoint integration:
- QiSpace Cloud is a Quantropi-hosted SaaS administration portal used to generate and supply quantum entropy and to manage accounts. An on-premise entropy option is available for organisations that require it.
- QiSpace Enterprise provides on-premise or private cloud services for managing quantum entropy, creating and distributing private quantum keys, and provisioning devices.
- The Endpoint Layer, powered by the QiSpace SDK, brings the platform to systems, products and users. It can be applied to applications, mobile devices, websites, files and IoT deployments.
This separation allows organisations to retain control over entropy and key management while extending quantum-secure capability out to a wide range of endpoints.
Real-world performance and standards support
The guide details performance characteristics across the three families that are relevant to architects assessing feasibility:
- MASQ offers crypto-agility with NIST PQC support, alongside Quantropi’s smaller-footprint novel algorithms.
- QEEP delivers symmetric encryption on any IP network or device at up to 18 times the speed of software AES-256, with the 2.5KB footprint noted above.
- SEQUR is delivered through three services: QEaaS, which distributes quantum-secure entropy over the Internet using high-performance, NIST-certified QRNGs at up to 1Gbps; SynQK, a digital QKD capability for distributing synchronised random numbers and keys between peers over the Internet; and NGen, a local pseudo-quantum random number generator reaching up to 2GB/s.
SynQK supports the ETSI-014 QKD standard and provides both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint key distribution, which is relevant where established interoperability standards are a procurement requirement.
Use cases and developer support
QiSpace is mapped to a set of enterprise use cases that will be familiar to most security teams:
- PKI replacement and quantum-secure digital signing and certificate authority
- Data and network encryption, including enterprise VPN
- Cloud and SaaS security
- Digital quantum key distribution
For development and integration teams, the platform offers broad language and operating system coverage:
- Linux, macOS and Windows: C, C++, Java, JavaScript and Python
- iOS: Objective-C and Swift
- Android: Java and Kotlin
This breadth means quantum-secure capability can be embedded across server, web, mobile and embedded targets without committing to a single technology stack.
